Further Fantastic News From 'Gone Rural'

Click on the image below to read the latest rewarding projects that 'Gone Rural' have achieved in Swaziland. This is in part due to the continued support for the large range of tableware that has been sold through www.Naturally-Gifted.co.uk

'Gone Rural' thanks Naturally Gifted customers

Well done to Naturally Gifted Customers! Fair Trade company 'Gone Rural' thanks you for the continued support and looks forward to working with 'Naturally Gifted' in the future.
Gone Rural have written to us to explain what they have achieved in the last year. What a difference we can all make.

Dear Naturally Gifted

Thank you so much for your support of Gone Rural and our seven hundred and thirty women producers. Thanks to you we have great pleasure in announcing that we have been able to double the women's income in 2007.
So far this year we have been able to pay school fees and buy uniforms for two hundred Swazi children, the vast majority of which are HIV/AIDS orphans.
As Swaziland now has a new constitution all of our women have undergone their first Women's Rights training which is run by female lawyers who accompany the Gone Rural buying team on their three weekly cycle of visits to our women.
So far all our women have also undergone HIV/AIDS basic awareness training, over eighty percent have been voluntarily counselled and tested for the disease. Now we have arranged for the mobile testing unit to also accompany the team to dispense the medicine required to keep our women healthy.

New Products for Mother's Day!

The Naturally Gifted Team have searched high and low to find more high quality, natural and ethically traded products in time for Mother's Day. Look what we have found...

First of all, The 'Pocket Garden' range of organic herbs and plants make fantastic gifts. Grow your own herbs in an all-in-one packet. A gift that grows! Simply open the packet sow and water the seeds then place near the window and watch the herbs grow. When the crop is ready to harvest simply cut and consume. The soil used is organic too. Perfect for the kitchen. We think this is a novel gift, rewarding and any foodie would love to receive it.

Secondly, we have launched a range of Photo albums and journals from India. 'Paper High' has produced a range of Sari and leather covered albums and journals. This stunning collection is unique. The paper is called 'Khadda' and is made from recycled cotton t-shirts. There is no wood involved in the making of the paper, just unbleached, hard-spun, cotton rags left over from the massive garment industry. India is one of the few cultures left which, because of the sheer population of the country; still make all their paper by hand. Once the cotton pulp is in its mould various different additions can be introduced to give the paper its individual look. resulting in no two sheets ever being identical. Common additions include marigold petals, bouganvilla, auster flower, grass, silk thread etc.

'Paper High' since 1996 has been recognised by the British Association for Fair Trade shops(BAFTS). We are very proud of this product as it meets all the criteria that 'Naturally Gifted' demands: Eco friendly as it is recycled, High quality as it is crafted by hand and ethical as it is traded fairly. It gets our seal of approval, why not see for yourself at our website where you will find many other gift ideas www.naturally-gifted.co.uk
